Checkeeper offers lots of great features for printing and mailing customized business checks on demand, including some you may have never tried. Checkeeper enables simple, on-demand check printing for all business payment needs, but did you know: Checkeeper also provides a suite of customizing features to make checks unique and brandable. Checkeeper’s Layout Editor offers many choices for how you design and print your checks, and it allows users to elevate from standard check formats to customized and specialized designs.

How do I use the layout editor in Checkeeper?

Along the left-hand navigation bar, click ‘Layouts.’

Click ‘Create New Layout’ to get an array of check layout choices.

Select the layout of your choice, and get started customizing it, adding, deleting, or resizing fields, as well as adding uploaded images or custom check fields to match your bookkeeping.

Hit ‘Save and Exit’ to have your new check layout readily available every time you log in.

How do I activate a check layout after I’ve edited it?

Your active check layout will appear first in your Layouts page; it will also be marked with a red asterisk in the top left corner. All checks you print will default to the active check layout automatically.

How do I change a check layout, or remove it altogether?

Your checks will print in the activated layout automatically. Want to activate a different one for a specific payment?

Go into ‘Layouts.’

Choose the new layout you wish to use.

Click on the settings icon in the top right corner of the chosen layout.

Click ‘Make Active.’

Confirm your choice.

Checks you print will now default to this new layout. Simple!

Need to remove a check layout permanently? Go into the settings for the layout to be deleted, select ‘Delete,’ and confirm your choice.

Why is the layout editor helpful?

Design checks to match your marketing

Checkeeper offers a check-printing software that enables users to upload their color business logos and other design images and backgrounds in order to create a custom look that brands their checks to match other marketing materials. Add custom fields for better bookkeeping

Your custom field can be added to only the check templates you select, and you can deactivate it for certain checks or certain times it is no longer needed. Use your custom field as an additional search term for locating payments when you are tracking expenses, reconciling accounts, resolving a dispute, or running reports. Using the layout editor to insert a custom field will give you another element to search for in order to locate payments more efficiently. Deactivated custom fields that no longer appear on checks can still be used as search terms to locate previous payments that utilized them.

Use different check layouts for different businesses
