Preparing Checks for Mailing

Ready to try Checkeeper’s service for check mailing? Answers to four short questions will let you know if your checks are ready to be printed and mailed by Checkeeper.

Are my checks ready for mailing? Four questions to answer:

1.    What is my preferred delivery speed?

Checkeeper offers four priority delivery methods so that users can get needed payment checks out promptly and delivered on time. For standard, routine bill payments, Checkeeper offers First-Class mailing through USPS; each printed check is mailed in a #10 secure business envelope and will be put in the mail for regular delivery before the end of the business day on which it is ordered. For larger or more urgent payments—or for payments for which you want tracking numbers—Checkeeper offers delivery through: USPS Priority Mail, UPS Next-Day Air, and UPS Second-Day Air. All of these come with tracking numbers to ensure greater security and accountability.

2.    Do I have enough credits?

The Check Mail Settings page shows you how many mailing credits you have, which is also indicated in a raised red bubble along your Checkeeper navigation bar. The Check Mail setting page prompts users to a Purchase Credit page that makes it easy to purchase more credits and to obtain a quick estimate of how many you’ll need for your specific check order. One credit pays for the mailing of one check through standard USPS First-Class mail. Credits can be purchased in quantities of 10, 20, 50, 100, or 500 at a time. Not sure how many you need? Use the handy estimator at the bottom of the page for a quick solution.

3.    Is my business info/bank info accurate?

One of the great features of online check printing is that users can change, edit, and update contact and account information in real time. When you move, open additional locations, or need to change the contact information on your check, Checkeeper makes real-time edits and additions a simple matter of inputting the new info. Checkeeper also prints your checking account and routing numbers along the bottom of the check exactly as you input them. Checkeeper does not touch your funds, relocate them into a separate account for holding, or verify your account numbers: it simply prints the vital account and routing numbers as they are input and formats them into the MICR-encoded font that bank computers recognize. Checks printed and mailed by Checkeeper are automatically printed in MICR ink, as well, for additional security and smoother processing. Before ordering your checks to be mailed, double-check the accuracy of checking account and routing numbers, as well as contact information for your business.

4.    Are there any special instructions?

Checkeeper can send your needed check payments with attachments, enclosures, invoice tables, pay stubs, benefits explanations, and many other financial or marketing materials essential to the mailing. Checkeeper will print checks with the saved signature users add, as well as void checks after a specific number of days designated by the user.

Upload your file and outsource the work to save time and supplies

When you have a check order that exceeds the time, resources, or mailing supplies you have available, Checkeeper can step in and do it all for you. Follow the instructions for uploading your CSV file with pertinent payment data, including payee names, addresses, and amounts, and have Checkeeper print and mail all of your needed payment checks through their fulfillment center. Checks are printed in MICR ink on premium check stock and mailed in a #10 double-window business envelope. Check orders placed by 4pm EST can be in the mail by the end of the business day.
