Set Up a Checkeeper Account for Mailing

Checkeeper offers complete check mailing services for those times users are on the road, away from a printer, out of supplies, or for when they simply don’t have the time and resources for a large check order that needs to go out promptly. When you’re in a hurry or low on resources, opt for Checkeeper to print and mail your payments for you. To save time down the line, set your account up in advance so you can take advantage of mailing when needed.

Set your mail settings

The Mail Settings tab is located on the main page along the left-side navigation bar. Click on Mail Settings to access all the defaults you will need for having Checkeeper print and mail checks for you.

Add mail credits ahead of time

Mail credits are deducted each time you submit a check order for printing and mailing. Maintaining a mailing credit balance will save you time when you need to make a quick check order through Checkeeper. The credit balance along the top tells you how many credits you have, and beneath it is the option to add more credits to your account. When you click on 'Purchase Credits,' you will be prompted to enter payment information. Not sure how many credits you’ll need? One credit is equal to one check to be printed, stuffed in an envelope, and mailed via USPS First-Class Mail. If you are opting for a different delivery method, check out the credit estimator along the bottom for a quick total of the credits you’ll need for a specific sized order.

Input business details

On the main Mail Settings page, you can enter all the pertinent business details needed to get your check correctly printed and mailed. Input the business name and the address that you want printed on the mailed check. The preview along the right side shows how that address will appear, and beneath it is the option to add a business logo to the check. Select ‘Add Logo’ to upload an image from your computer.

Input bank information

Input the routing number and checking account number to be printed along the bottom of the check. Checkeeper does not draw funds for you or remove or relocate your money. Numbers will appear on the bottom of the check just as users input them, so it is important to double-check them to verify accuracy. The Checkeeper software will automatically reformat the numbers in the MICR font that bank computers require, so there is nothing else for a user to do.

Save a signature

Checks printed and mailed by Checkeeper require a signature to place on the check. The box to add a signature is located on the Mail Settings page, and users have the option to use a mobile device to sign with a finger or a stylus if that is preferred to create a signature that matches bank records. Be sure to save your signature, and any other new setting or change to settings, before exiting the page.

Additional instructions and help

The bottom of the Mail Settings page contains optional voiding instructions for those users who want an expiration for their payment. If you want some additional help or a visual tutorial of how to use some mailing features in Checkeeper, click on the Help tab (left margin) to be taken to ‘Pro Tips.’ Scroll down ‘Pro Tips’ to find the mailing section to watch short, autorepeat walkthroughs highlighting the topic in question.

Checkeeper offers four priority delivery methods

Checkeeper can get check orders placed before 4pm EST out for delivery by the end of the business day on which the order is placed. For payments that are large, time-sensitive, or in need of tracking, opt for one of the more expedient priority delivery methods that gets payments delivered faster and which provides users a tracking number.

Checkeeper also offers one-time, high-volume check mailing

Checkeeper handles check orders of all sizes, even into the thousands. If you have a large, one-time check order—for customer rebates or refunds, for example—call or email Checkeeper directly to get a custom quote and turnaround time, as well as simple instructions for uploading a payment file into the Checkeeper template to get checks printed efficiently and out for expedient delivery.
