Maximize Options in the Layout Editor for Better Customization

While Checkeeper offers an easy-to-use online template for standard check printing, the 'Layout Editor' affords users more customization options when they want something more than a simple, standard check. Get the most out of online check printing by maximizing the Layout Editor features to create a unique and memorable payment check that represents your brand.

Utilizing layout editor template options inside the Checkeeper account, Checkeepers can:

Make checks more cohesive with the overall marketing

Checkeepers can design their business checks to work in tandem with other marketing materials and match the overall look of the brand. Upload a color business logo so that checks coordinate with stationary, websites, business cards, flyers, online ads, and other types of business communication your company routinely uses. Online, custom checks can help make marketing and communication more cohesive and reinforce the brand in the minds of each person who receives payment.

Make the check payment system more efficient with custom fields

Checkeeper check templates include all the fields needed to cash or deposit a viable business check. But instead of using only the standard check fields, many Checkeeper users choose to add their own custom field—like customer ID or invoice number—or to replace the generic ‘memo’ with something more specific to the bookkeeping and payment process. Checkeeper check layouts allow users to add custom fields, activate them within designated check layouts, and delete or deactivate them when they are no longer needed. Custom fields added within the Layout Editor give users an additional field to use when searching for payments in the smart check registry.

Create and save different check layouts for different businesses

Small business owners and bookkeepers who manage payments for multiple clients or companies simultaneously appreciate the consolidated access to multiple businesses offered by a single Checkeeper login and account access. Add secondary, tertiary, and side businesses to a single Checkeeper account, and access them all from one place. Each account has its own saved check templates for completely separate accounting and payment options. Using the Layout Editor, create as many different check templates for the different businesses listed, adjusting and customizing them to suit the varying needs of each company. Save all your customized check templates in one place so that you can easily go back and forth among them to issue payments without having to manage multiple logins and passwords.

Using the Checkeeper Layout Editor is simple

·      Log in to Checkeeper.

·      Locate and click on ‘Layouts’ along the left-hand navigation bar.

·      Click ‘Create New Layout’ to get an array of check layout choices.

·      Select the layout of your choice.

Customize your selected layout by adding, deleting, shifting, or resizing the check fields. Upload images, backgrounds, and a color business logo, and then position them on your checks to create a desired look. Add a custom field to help you attain more organized and specific check records or to make bank reconciliation more efficient.

Once you activate a check layout, it will appear first on your Layouts page, marked with a red asterisk in the top corner to highlight it. Checks you create will automatically default to the active check layout. When you want to make a different layout the new default:

·      Go into ‘Layouts.’

·      Choose the new layout you wish to use.

·      Click on the settings icon in the top right corner of the chosen layout.

·      Click ‘Make Active.’

·      Confirm your choice.

If you no longer prefer your check layout, simply go back into the settings to select ‘Delete,’ and have the layout removed permanently.

The Checkeeper Layout Editor was designed to be as simple and easy to navigate as possible, creating countless options for customizing business checks, all which can be changed or adjusted when needed in order to adapt to changing business, payment, and bookkeeping needs.
